About the practice

The practice had a new owner on 1st August 2024 and Piers Lambert has now retired. We thank him for his hard work and wish him a long and happy retirement. He will be greatly missed!

Pat Popat, who is the new owner, is a Dental Hygienist and Therapist with a wealth of experience in the dental field.

He started his career as a Dental Nurse and was invited back to become a tutor for dental nurses.

Pat was then offered the position of Course Director and Lead Tutor for Dental Nurse Training at The Ipswich Hospital and has been an Examiner for the National Examining Board for Dental Nurses.

Having worked alongside eminent clinicians, Pat has served as a Practice Manager at a specialist referral dental practice and continues to work with various dental practices and dental companies as a lecturer and key opinion leader across the UK and abroad to help them grow and develop. Pat is an award winning clinician in the dental and aesthetics field. He won the best treatment of a nervous patient in 2014 and various other awards throughout the years!

Having gained his certificate in Advanced Periodontology, Pat is able to use the latest technology to treat gum disease including laser.

We are pleased to welcome Dr Christian (Riaan) McCrae to the practice! Riaan qualified at the University of Stellenbosch (South Africa). He then went on to complete further education at the University of Warwick (UK) and gained his MSc in Implant dentistry (2009).

Riaan enjoys general dentistry but has a special interest in implant dentistry and aesthetics.

He spends his time away from dentistry with his three children and wife, together exploring the great outdoors. Riaan enjoys cooking for his family and socialising with friends. In recent years Riaan has become an accomplished runner, competing in many local charitable events.

Colne View practice features:

Numerous features of the practice were built to enable access for patients with disabilities:

  • There is ample free car-parking immediately outside the building
  • The car park is flat, with no steps, kerbs, or other hazards
  • There is an access ramp leading to the front door
  • There is a railing with a handrail all the way up one side of the ramp
  • The inside of the building is on a single level with no steps or ramps at all
  • The external and internal doors are broad enough to accommodate wheelchair users.
  • The furniture inside the building has been arranged to allow easy passage for wheelchair users
  • We now have the facility to communicate by email rather than by telephone – which can make life easier for people with hearing impairments
  • The toilets are large enough for frames or wheelchairs to manoeuvre. The sink is low level for wheelchair users to reach
  • The main surgery is large and patients can be treated in their wheelchair or be treated in the dental chair.
